The Messianic Jewish Alliance of Australia is a Scripture-based, non-denominational organisation, established in 1960. Our aim is to bring together Jews and Gentiles who acknowledge that Yeshua (Jesus) is the promised Messiah of Israel in supportive fellowship.

The MJAA is affiliated with the International Messianic Jewish Alliance (IMJA) which was founded in 1925. The Hebrew Christian Alliance of Great Britain (as it was known then) established the IMJA in 1866. There are now affiliated Alliances in many countries. They are all non-denominational organisations which cater especially for Jewish believers in Yeshua, the Messiah, together with their families. We help people to understand that when a Jewish person follows Yeshua they continue to follow the faith of their fathers and remain Jewish.

We believe that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah promised to Israel and the world. He was born, lived, died and rose from the dead in Israel. He was foretold by the Jewish prophets in the Tanakh and that His story was recorded for us by His Jewish followers in the Brit Hadashah. Therefore, when a Jewish person follows Yeshua, they are doing a very Jewish thing. They are continuing in the faith of their fathers, and they continue to be as a Jew.

The MJAA recognises God’s continuing purposes for the Jewish people and that the Scripture foresees the day when all Israel will be saved. Until then, the MJAA is committed to unite and represent the saved remnant of Israel and to foster its spiritual and numerical growth as a united witness of salvation in Yeshua to the wider Jewish community.

Consequently, it is important to the impact of our witness that our Jewish people see and understand that the MJAAs’ affairs are governed by Jewish people.

To this end we seek to encourage:

  • An original, Hebraic perspective of the Scriptures embracing Jewish and Gentile believers in churches and Messianic congregations.
  • Activities which will aid our testimony to the Jewish people with the Gospel and motivate the involvement of both Messianic Jews and Gentiles who are followers of Yeshua; we therefore have a broad and creative mandate to conduct and promote any activities and events that fulfill these goals.
  • Support for Jewish believers in Yeshua in the state of Israel and other parts of the world.

Prayer
We meet together online to pray for Israel, especially at this time of war and great need. we continue to pray for the work of the MJAA, Messianic congregations, Jewish outreach and other needs on Tuesdays at 5:30pm-6pm. If you’d like to join in then email David at secretary@mjaa.org.au so he can send you the Google Meet link.

IMJA Conference – Israel 2023

Our President, Secretary & Treasurer travelled to Israel recently to attend the International Alliance Conference. It was an eventful time, with the war breaking out the day before. We gathered in a beautiful location outside of Jerusalem, and it was a great time of fellowship and sharing on what God has been doing, even while running to bomb shelters, trying to rebook return journeys and hearing explosions in the background. More to come in the next post.

We stand with Israel – Bring them Home

Brad & I attended a rally last Sunday calling for the hostages to be released. We continue to pray that the Lord will comfort, protest and deliver all 239 hostages, including 30 children brutally taken from their homes on Oct 7.

What can we do to help?
– Pray.
– Give to help the refugees in Israel
– Research the truth and share it
