We will be creating this mosaic at our upcoming workshop. It is created from a photo of an olive tree growing at the entrance to the Cardo in Jerusalem – the heart of the city.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The olive tree and it’s braches are a symbol of both the Jewish people and the Jewish Messiah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lord says of Israel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Also your people\u00a0shall<\/em>\u00a0all\u00a0be<\/em>\u00a0righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.” Isa 60:21
“The\u00a0Lord\u00a0called your name,
Green Olive Tree, Lovely\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0of Good Fruit” Jer 11:6
“His branches shall\u00a0spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree,
And\u00a0his fragrance like Lebanon.
Those who dwell under his shadow shall return;They shall be revived\u00a0like<\/em>\u00a0grain,
And\u00a0grow like a vine”. Hosea 14:6-7<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lord also promised that He would raise up a righteous Branch to rule Israel and the nations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBehold,\u00a0the<\/em>\u00a0days are coming,\u201d says the\u00a0Lord,
\u201cThat I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and\u00a0prosper,
And execute\u00a0judgment and righteousness in the\u00a0earth. Jer 23:5<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u00a0shall come forth a\u00a0Rod from the\u00a0stem of\u00a0Jesse,
And\u00a0a Branch shall\u00a0grow out of his roots.
The Spirit of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the\u00a0Lord. Isa 11:1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For behold, I am bringing forth\u00a0My Servant the\u00a0BRANCH. Zech 3:8
Behold,\u00a0the Man whose name\u00a0is<\/em>\u00a0the\u00a0BRANCH!
From His place He shall\u00a0branch out,
And He shall build the temple of the\u00a0Lord; Zech 6:12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here we see the Branch as a son of David, ruling in righteousness on the throne which is is fulfillment of the Davidic covenant. This is a picture of Yeshua the Messiah, and His coming reign on the earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This mosaic reminds us of the promises of God to Israel, and inspires us to pray for their fulfillment. As we see the olive tree growing in the heart of Jerusalem, and the light shining out, we look forward to Messiah the Branch returning to His people and city, and we pray that the hearts and minds of Israel are opened to recognise Him as their King. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
